Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Mississippi is a youth development organization working with young people from disadvantaged economic, social and family circumstances. The organization was founded in 1936 and serves more than 5,000 boys and girls, aged 6 through 18 in the central Mississippi region. The club focuses on five core categories that include character and leadership, education and career, health and life skills, the arts, and sports, fitness and recreation. It provides a wide range of programs, activities and services supervised by trained professional staff and volunteers. The club has various units, including Capitol, Sykes, Walker, Magnolia, Canton, Bolton-Edwards and Camp John I. Hay. It is located in Jackson, Miss.
