Established in 1907, Clausell Elementary School offers educational opportunities to students in kindergarten through grade five. It is comprised of more than 20 classrooms and has an annual enrollment of over 430 students. The school is a part of the Jackson Public Schools, which is a school district that governs various elementary, middle and high schools. Jackson Public Schools maintains athletics, curriculum, food services, graphic arts, human resources, professional development, operations, transportation and risk management departments. Jackson Public Schools operates nearly 50 schools and is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. The district enrolls approximately 31,000 students annually.
