Founded in 1929, Rankin Elementary School enrolls more than 300 students in kindergarten through grade three. Its academic curriculum includes social studies, math, science, physical education and art. The school has a library and media center, as well as cafeteria and discovery laboratory. In addition, Rankin Elementary School provides reading recovery programs. It offers food and transportation services. The school is staffed with more than 20 teachers. Rankin Elementary School is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. It is a part of the Tupelo Public School District, which serves students in elementary, middle and high schools.
