The services of this congregation follow a simple pattern laid out in The Book of Common Prayer. The church is part of the Episcopal Diocese of Missouri.

This growing church holds worship services at the Masonic Lodge near the corner of I-44 and Highway 109 in Eureka. Throughout its existence, the congregation has never owned a building, so that it can "be free of maintenance costs and focus on servicing the needs of others."

Examples of missionary projects include knitting scarves for homeless people; Habitat for Humanity; Eureka Food Pantry; Episcopal City Mission (associated with wrapping holiday gifts for children in juvenile detention); and feeding hungry people in the Central West End region of St. Louis.

St. Francis also is known for its annual Blessing of the Animals.
