The Jewish Vocational Service of Kansas City is a branch of Jewish Vocational Service, a private, nonprofit organization originally established in 1949 to offer assistance to holocaust survivors and other World War II refugees with immigration and relocation difficulties. The company has since expanded its mission to assist individuals with physical or developmental barriers. Its undertakings include career management services, employment services for employers, language and cultural services, refugee employment services, refugee resettlement services, rehabilitation services, senior community employment, sheltered-work and contract services and social-work units. Jewish Vocational Service receives funding from state and federal government agencies, foundations, fees for services it provides and private donations.
