The Niles Home for Children provides residential treatment, day treatment and education services to more than 150 children, each year. Niles Home serves children ages 7 through 17 from eastern Kansas and across Missouri. The agency works in partnership with Missouri Division of Family Services Children s Division; the Jackson County Mental Health Levy; and the Kansas City, Missouri School District. The agency, founded in 1883, is located in Kansas City, Mo. The campus consists of two adjacent buildings, one housing administrative offices and the residential dorm, and the other housing therapeutic and educational services. Niles Home treats and cares for children who suffer from the trauma caused by neglect, abandonment, homelessness and abuse. Through its residential treatment program and behavior management school (Niles Prep), Niles continues to rebuild lives and renew hope. The agency employs over 70 people, including social workers, teachers and residential technicians.
