Alma is a city in Harlan County, Nebraska, United States. The population was 1,214 at the 2000 census. It is the county seat of Harlan County. The town is named after a daughter of one of the early settlers. The town is near the Harlan County Reservoir.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.7 square miles (1.8 km²), all of it land.
