Neligh is a city in Antelope County, Nebraska, United States. The population was 1,651 at the 2000 census. It is the county seat of Antelope County. The city's name is pronounced nee-lee (IPA: /niːliː/).
In 1872, while misunderstanding the ideal location he was selling, Omaha banker Herman Kountze sold the land required to develop Neligh. He was not aware it would make the ideal county seat, which Neligh eventually became.
