Sunrise Middle School, located in Kearney, Neb., is a public school that was established in 1996. The school provides academic education to students in grades six through eight and enrolls more than 550 students. It is a part of the Kearney Public Schools. Its curriculum includes English, art, math, science, social studies, and foreign languages with a choice in French and Spanish. Additionally, it provides courses in business administration, industrial technology, computers, and family and consumer science. Sunrise Middle School also organizes various extracurricular activities, such as art, music, band, choir, orchestra and book fairs. The school additionally offers physical education and organizes conferences. The middle school has a library and media center that provides fiction and nonfiction books, novels, online catalogs, audiovisual aids and Internet search tools.
