City of North Las Vegas, Nev., is located at the northern tip of the Las Vegas Valley. Located in Clark County, Nev., the more than 80-square-mile city is surrounded by mountains and desert valleys. North Las Vegas offers tourists vacations, recreational, and cultural and historical attractions. The city was established in 1946 and is run by various departments, such as public works, animal control, communications, economic development, engineering, finance and fire department. The public works department is responsible for engineering services, land and development services, flood control, and transportation and building safety services. The engineering department is responsible for roadways, street improvements, traffic signals, bridges, water reservoirs, wells, pump stations, water and sewer pipelines, and parks and landscaping.
