The Nye County Sheriff s Office is a law enforcement agency that maintains human rights, protects property and promotes individual responsibility. Its neighborhood watch program unites neighbors and furnishes them with information on the ways to effectively reduce crime in their neighborhoods. The sheriff s office provides the Drug Abuse Resistance Education program, which educates youths to resist peer pressure and provides information about the dangers involved in using drugs, such as alcohol, marijuana and tobacco products.
