Many Las Vegas travelers seem to think that everything the city has to offer is found on the stretch of Las Vegas Blvd. known as The Strip; but there is plenty to the city that can be missed if one doesn't leave the glitz and glam behind for a day. The Las Vegas Motor Speedway, located north of the Strip right off of I-15, borders an expanse of desert but delivers on the thrills of high speed racing. Here, car fanatics can experience the thrills of NASCAR and indy racing, drag racing, and even go-karting.

Las Vegas Motor Speedway Parking
Parking for the speedway is located directly on-site and is generally free. Entrance to the speedway's parking can be found off of exit 54 on I-15. The Blue, Brown, Green, and Yellow lots are free to use for the public. Lots 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 require special parking passes to enter, as they are located closest to the speedway itself.

Hotels near the Las Vegas Motor Speedway
The closest hotel to the Las Vegas Motor Speedway is the Aliante Hotel and Casino. The speedway is a ten to fifteen minute drive from the Las Vegas Strip, so travelers can utilize public transportation from hotels like The Stratosphere and Rio All-Suites Hotel and Casino.

Seating at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway
Grandstand Section 2 is located right at the bend of the start / finish line and stretches to turns 1 and 2 for Grandstand Sections 1 and 3 respectively. Here, you'll get the best and closest view of the race. Overlooking Section 2 are the Richard Petty and Dale Earnhardt Terraces at turns 1 and 4, which are a bit pushed back from the action, but still situated for a broad view.

Food at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway
Levy Restaurants offers on-site dining at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway with burgers, sandwiches, and snack-sized appetizers. Small concession stands are also located outside of the track area.

Guests are also encouraged to provide their own food, so long as it meets the raceways requirements. No alcoholic beverages are permitted and food items must be a single, hand-held item such as a sandwich. 20 oz. bottles of water and soda are permitted.

The speedway is about more than just watching others race. The Richard Petty Driving Experience lets daredevils get behind the wheel of a speeding NASCAR race car. Those wanting to enjoy the experience from the passenger's seat can do so in a high-speed ride along.
