The Lebanon Police Department, established in 1910, preserves peace, enforces laws and ordinances, protects residents lives and property and arrests law violators. It maintains a patrol division that handles traffic accidents and routine police matters that include crossing guard duties, bank escorts, funeral processions and parades. The division also responds to calls related to animal control and various animal-related crimes. In addition, the Lebanon Police Department has a K-9 division that performs duties related to building and vehicle searches, tracking criminals and crowd control. The department operates a communication center that provides emergency and nonemergency information and communication services to various federal agencies. The Lebanon Police Department, located in Lebanon, N.H., also maintains detectives, prosecution, records and training divisions.
