As an athletic trainer, I learned to care for patients on the field, after their surgery, during their rehabilitation and as they returned to their athletic activity. Participating in this progression motivated me to become a physician assistant in orthopaedic surgery. My background has prepared me to help patients with a wide range of orthopaedic conditions, treatments and goals, including preventing arthritis, helping to heal fractures, preparing for surgery and helping someone with pain be able to enjoy a vacation or wedding. It’s gratifying to help patients return to their everyday and athletic activities. It’s very rewarding to see the difference between when a patient first comes to us, limping or in a wheelchair, and their improvement after treatment, walking normally and getting back to work and family life with less pain.

I care for patients with a broad range of cardiovascular problems and concerns, different life experiences, and varying priorities. I recognize every one of them appreciates being heard and respected. I try to craft thoughtful diagnostic and treatment plans in collaboration with my patients. In brief, I strive to be the kind of physician I hope my loved ones will see.

I was drawn to the field of neurology by the beauty and intricacies of the human nervous system. I chose to specialize in clinical and applied basic science research with the aim of easing the burden patients who are suffering from neurodegenerative diseases. I strive to understand my patients’ needs and health goals. With that in mind, I work with them and their families as a team to maximize their health by using the most current, proven therapies available, tailored to their individual needs and circumstances. My goal is to help my patients improve their health and well being in a meaningful way.
