AmerisourceBergen is one of the nation's largest pharmaceutical services providers. The company provides branded pharmaceuticals, generic pharmaceuticals, biotech and specialty drugs, over-the-counter remedies and health and beauty aids to independent retail pharmacies, national and regional chains, hospitals, clinics, pharmacy benefit managers, prescription mail order facilities, physician offices and long-term care facilities. AmerisourceBergen operates in two segments: pharmaceutical distribution, which includes the operations of AmerisourceBergen Drug Corporation, Specialty Group and Packaging Group; and PharMerica, which includes the long-term care pharmacy and workers' compensation businesses. The company has more than 14,000 employees. AmerisourceBergen began operations in August of 2001 following the merger of AmeriSource Health Corporation and Bergen Brunswig Corporation. It is one of the largest pharmaceuticals distributors in the United States and has its headquarters in Valley Forge, Pa., and a Western management center in Orange, Calif. R. David Yost has been the chief executive officer of AmerisourceBergen for more than nine years. He has been with the medical and health care company for over 32 years. Yost earned a BS degree from the United States Air Force Academy, and a MBA from the University of California-Los Angeles. AmerisourceBergen has 43 distribution centers providing daily delivery in the United States.
