The Department of Psychiatry of the New Jersey Medical School offers a range of clinical, educational and research services. It serves the communities of greater northern New Jersey and Newark, N.J. The department provides treatment and care services for inpatient, outpatient and neuropsychological diseases. The Department of Psychiatry of the New Jersey Medical School has research and education divisions. Its education division offers residency training, medical student education and child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship programs. Its research division conducts research studies related to the cause, course and treatment of various behavioral health problems, including schizophrenia, autism, trauma and mood disorders. The department also provides acute care, psychological consulting, and assessment and testing services for patients with epilepsy, learning disabilities, brain injuries and other disorders.
