The Point Pleasant Police Department is a law enforcement agency that safeguards the lives and property of the residents of New Jersey. Founded in 1920, its detective bureau has expertise in the investigation of crimes, including robbery, narcotics and drug law, and burglary and firearms violations. It employs a staff of more than 25 patrol officers, lieutenant and crossing guards. The Point Pleasant Police Department maintains a traffic safety unit that offers services, such as traffic violation enforcement, seatbelt and child restraint safety and education, collision investigations and surveys and recommendations. Additionally, it provides crime prevention tips on issues related to home security, self protection, and locks and keys.
