Woodcrest at Muttontown

The Woodcrest Club, a golf and country club, is steeped in the history of upstate New York. The clubhouse is the original Woodside House, more than 100 years old and decorated in the old English tradition. True to the hand of its designer, the Woodside was a house of warmth with its formal gardens, grassy views from the terraces, wonderful dinner parties and tennis courts. Since 1960 the original house has been the clubhouse for the Woodcrest Country Club. The maintenance barns were the stables, where they raised prize milk cattle. The pro shop and part of the former locker room, which was destroyed by fire in 1970, were the polo pony stables. The polo field was located between the 7th green and 2nd green. Near the 16th green prize roses were grown in the rose gardens. The club offers a variety of amenities and services to its members, and the business of serving club membership is practically a 24-hour, everyday operation including Sundays and Holidays. The Woodcrest Club is located in Syosset, N.Y.
