Midtown Community School, also known as MCS, serves students in pre-kindergarten through grade eight. A National Blue Ribbon School, it provides sessions in physical education, music, computer technology, math, science and Spanish. Established in 1992, it also offers gifted and talented education programs. The school operates chess and newspaper clubs. Midtown Community School administers the Title I program. The school provides several sports activities, such as basketball, cheerleading and softball. It operates a parent-teacher organization and offers a variety of food items. The school provides guidance counseling services. Its extracurricular activities include band and choir. Midtown Community School is a part of the Bayonne Board of Education.
