This project is an excellent example of how Baker A+D can work within tight budget and schedule constraints. When 3 Advertising came to us with the seemingly impossible task of designing their new 8, 000 square foot corporate office all within, let's just say, a very very small budget, we took the opportunity as a chance to think outside the box. As a client with a creative sensibility, 3 Advertising had some general ideas about how they wanted their space to be: semi-open offices, portability ( due to the fact that they wanted to be able to take as much of their office as possible if they ever decide to move ) and to express their corporate culture. We developed a concept that captured the energy of 3 and provided a fun and creative work environment while still providing the essential functions that a corporate office needs. We provided each office a unique feeling of both privacy and openness. To achieve this we used removable translucent panels in a series of three different configurations in order to give a hierarchy and rhythm to the overall space. LEED for Schools is not solely about energy savings; it places heavy focus on acoustics, air quality, natural light and views all to enhance the learning environment. Unique green features in the Barcelona Elementary School building include a recycling collection room; insulation made of recycled blue jeans; and numerous skylights and windows that save energy on electric lighting and provide a direct line of sight out a window fromRead More Posted by Baker A+D at 09: 49 AM2 Comments529-B ADAMS ADAMS STREET NE, ALBUQUERQUE NEW 87108USA505.254.4697 Baker Architecture + Design provides full architectural services with a concentration on developing creative modern solutions utilizing contemporary materials and technologies appropriate to the climate and indigenous architecture of New Mexico.
