Founded in 1959, Sandia Elementary is learning institution that serves students with a variety of educational sessions. It is located in Clovis, N.M., and enrolls more than 380 children in kindergarten through grade six. The institution conducts classes in various subjects, such as English, math, science and social studies. Sandia Elementary employs a staff of more than 40 teachers and paraprofessionals, including a custodian, librarian, speech therapist, nurse and counselor. It provides instruction in physical education, music, and arts and crafts. The institution also has a computer laboratory and organizes book fairs. Sandia Elementary conducts parent advisory committee meetings and offers food services. In addition, it publishes newsletters and conducts sessions for gifted and talented children. The institution is a part of the Clovis Municipal Schools District, which operates several elementary, middle and high schools.
