Bliss Summit Bible Camp was started in the heart of one Western NY farmer in the fall of 1976, Art Sampson was lead by God to donate the land in order to meet a pressing need of local Bible Club missionaries. The camp became official in January of 1977. By the summer of 1977 volunteer workers where able to do the impossible of turning 50 acres of hayfields and 20 acres of woods into a children's bible camp dedicated to evangelism, growth, and service. In 1988 Alan Work took over as the first full time director of camp. He oversaw many great years and projects in the life of the camp. Early in 2000 Jeff Baxter was appointed by BCM to continue the work and build upon the heritage. In 2007 Carl & Karen Manning took on the awesome responsibility of caring for the sacrifices that so many before them have made. Buildings, programs, and people all built by the surrendering of Christian men and women as they were led by God. Please remember Bliss Summit Bible Camp as Carl & Karen undertake the next milestone in its rich history. Looking forward to the hope of Christ's return we hold on to the words of Paul in Philippians 1: 6 "...I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ."
