Operational for more than 120 years, the Broad Channel Volunteers is a Nonprofit organization that undertakes fundraising activities of the Broad Channel Fire Department. It is also pays dues for member organizations, such as the Southern New York Volunteer Firemans Association and the Firemans Association of the State of New York. In addition, it serves more than five volunteer fire departments in over five boroughs of New York. The Broad Channel Fire Department is responsible for providing first aid and ambulatory care solutions. It also works to offer fire protection and prevention services. The department additionally is responsible for providing emergency medical services.
