<p>Comprised of 95 active volunteer member, the Dobbs Ferry Fire Department responds to approximately 350 calls per year. The department has two fire houses (one on Main Street and the other at 203 Ashford Ave.), which hold: one tower-ladder truck, one tower-ladder, three pumpers, one utility vehicle and three chief's cars. Chief Frank Farrington has been a volunteer firefighter since 1973, &nbsp;and is proud to have such a diverse department. "We have workmen, accountants, teachers, junior firemen and even one medical doctor," Farrington said.</p> <p>Besides fires, the Dobbs Ferry Fire Department responds to calls for flooding, down-wires, alarm malfunctions and a multitude of other emergency situations. It also has a Fire Prevention Department, which makes routine inspections to assure all local structures are up to code.</p> <p>The Fire Department are sponsors of Dobbs Ferry Little League and hold a golf tournament annually in honor of a department member who passed away.</p>
