Queens Vocational and Technical High School serves students in grades nine through 12. The school's nonacademic activities include leadership, drama and urban debate teams; Lincoln-Douglas debate teams; bowling, basketball, handball, track and baseball teams; and formal peer mediation and conflict resolution programs. Queens Vocational and Technical High School promotes health-related fitness through a mix of several after- and before-school activities, including traditional and nontraditional sports and fitness activities. The school's special academic programs include honors classes in math, biology, English, social studies and journalism. Queens Vocational and Technical High School is a part of The New York City Department of Education. The school is located in Long Island City, N.Y.
