Founded in 1992, the 34th Street Partnership is a coalition of property owners, tenants and New York City officials and provides tourist assistance, retail and special security services. It also offers services related to streetscape improvements and public events. The partnership works to Eliminating unsightly and unsafe conditions, including crime, litter and graffiti in the 34th Street District. The 34th Street Partnership designs and implements various street and park improvements. It provides a variety of horticulture and taxi dispatch services. The partnership maintains a special maintenance unit that removes handbills from walls, utility poles, mailboxes, phone booths and newsstands. In addition, the 34th Street Partnership manages street furniture, signages, structures and plantings.
