The Riverside Group was formed in 1998 with the merger of Riverside Book Bindery, Zahrndt's Book Bindery, Senica Book Bindery and Monroe Paper Finishing. This consolidation was the final step in a series of acquisitions that changed the face of the binding and finishing industry in the greater Rochester, N.Y., area and beyond. The company operated its four divisions out of three separate locations until 1993, when Riverside Book Bindery and Zahrndt's were combined to form the Zahrndt's division, and Monroe Paper Finishing and Senica Book Bindery were combined to form the Monroe Paper Finishing division. This move consolidated The Riverside Group into two locations, making the task of managing much simpler and cost effective. The final consolidation took place in the spring of 1998, placing all production and management in its current location in Rochester.
