In 1989, he relocated and opened a new store in Lindenhurst, NY. While driving on Middle Country Road in Centereach one day, Richard's wife Joyce noticed a for sale sign on an old building dating back to 1931. Appreciating the beauty and history of the building, Richard and Joyce bought the building in 1999. Center Gold opened its doors shortly after.

(NGC), a member of the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors. As an active member of the community, Richard donates to local charities and is a member of the Middle Country Chamber of Commerce. The future of the jewelry business is changing rapidly. Richard explained, “We have expanded our internet sales and custom design work and are no longer a mom and pop store, but rather a 21st century jewelry store."
