Courtside seating is reserved for the U.S. Open, the rest is on a first-come, first-served basis. Currently, it was the second largest within the USTA Billie Jean King Tennis Center. In total there is 33 tennis courts within the facility. Currently underway is a $550 million renovation, which will add retractable roofs to the Arthur Ashe and Louis Armstrong stadiums.The U.S. Open is a tennis tournament that is the final part of the Grand Slam Championship each year. It begin back in 1881 and has been played at the USTA Billie Jean King since 1978. The tournament is held in August and September, the rest of the year the courts are available to the public.
