Melville Volunteer Fire Department

The Plainview Volunteer Fire Department, located on Long Island 35 miles east of New York City, provides fire protection and emergency services to the hamlets of Plainview, Old Bethpage, and parts of Woodbury. We have a staff of 100 members, all volunteers, and our apparatus consists of six engines, two ladders, one heavy rescue, three ALS equipped ambulances and two medical first responder Fly Cars ; all housed in three stationhouses. Our area of protection is approximately 9.4 square miles. We protect 30, 000 residences, three industrial parks, and the Long Island Expressway ( Rte 495 ), Seaford Oyster Bay Expressway ( Rte 135 ), and the Northern State Parkway. Our members attend countless hours of drilling to keep them up to the task of providing our service to the community at large. We are an aggressive interior attack department with a grand history of success.

Established in 1926, The East Farmingdale Volunteer Fire Company is a public safety agency that works to provide fire protection and prevention services. It operates a meeting hall, recreation room, kitchen facilities and administrative offices. The department is comprised of more than 170 men and women. The East Farmingdale Volunteer Fire Company is responsible for rope and heavy rescue operations and hazardous materials response. Its fire district covers an area of over 10 square miles. The department has a fleet of pumps, ambulances, technical rescue vehicles and advanced life support equipment. The East Farmingdale Volunteer Fire Company also offers information related fireplace and holiday safety and fire extinguishes. The department is a part of the government of East Farmingdale in New York.

The Bethpage Fire Department, originally known as the Central Park Fire Department, coordinates responses to fire and rescue incidents and works to protect and preserve the lives and property of citizens. It operates a communication center that coordinates responses to emergency and nonemergency fire and medical calls for service. The department offers fire prevention education services for special events, such as safety and health fairs, station tours, parades, and presentations for schools, churches and community organizations. The Bethpage Fire Department features pumpers, rescue vehicles and brush units. The department is located in Bethpage, N.Y.
