Founded in 1951, the Mental Health Association of Rockland County is a private, nonprofit community organization that provides mental health and addiction treatment services, education and training to the residents of Rockland County in New York. Also known as MHA, the organization offers rehabilitative, educational, alcohol and substance abuse treatment and family support services. Its Children s Case Management Services is a community support program for children with serious emotional disorders. The Mental Health Association of Rockland County operates the Compeer Program, which is a community support service program that conducts a variety of activities, including music shows, concerts, parties and lunches for mentally disabled people. Its residential services include supervised and supported housing options for persons recovering from mental illnesses. The organization is a member of a member of the Mental Health Association in New York State and United Way of Rockland County. Its partners include the National Mental Health Association.
