Founded in 1962, the Metropolitan Center for Mental Health is a nonprofit clinic that offers a range of mental health care services for individuals with emotional distress. Its services include individual psychotherapy, parent and family counseling and psychological testing. The center also provides medication therapy and anger management services. The Metropolitan Center for Mental Health conducts addiction outpatient programs for the recovery of individuals from addictions and relapse prevention. It employs a staff of psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers and other mental health professionals. The center is licensed by the New York State Office of Mental Health and the New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services. The Metropolitan Center for Mental Health maintains a location in New York City.
