History
Sew New York was started as the brain child of Laura McCracken. She saw that no one was offering private sewing classes to students, which is greatly needed if one wants to really learn the art of sewing, so she started a small school in her studio. She has had great success helping others learn how to sew and construct clothing that is not only beautiful but clothing that you will be proud to wear. She also works with many young students who are on their way to design school. She helps get them started with sewing and helps them to better understand fabric, patterns and proper sewing construction so that the student enters design school with ability to move ahead much faster. Her classes are great fun for all.
