L'Or al USA, based in New York City, is a subsidiary of L'Or al, headquartered in Paris. L'Or al develops and manufactures hair care, hair color, skin care, color cosmetics and fragrances for the consumer and professional markets. Its international brands include L Or al Paris, Garnier, Maybelline New York, La Roche-Posay, L Or al Professionnel, Kerastase, Redken, Lanc me, Biotherm, Kiehl s, Shu Uemura and Helena Rubinstein. The company also owns salon product makers Matrix and SoftSheen-Carson, and offers perfume brands, including Ralph Lauren, Cacharel, Giorgio Armani and Gloria Vanderbilt. Its Biotherm skin care products are sold to department and specialty stores, apothecaries, and perfumeries in Europe. L'Or al was founded in 1953 as Cosmair.
