River Edge, NJ
River Edge is a borough in Bergen County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 United States Census, the borough population was 11,340.
The community was incorporated as the borough of Riverside by an Act of the New Jersey Legislature on June 30, 1894, from portions of Midland Township, at the height of the "Boroughitis" phenomenon then sweeping through Bergen County, based on the results of a referendum held the previous day. On December 1, 1930, the borough's name was changed to River Edge.
River Edge lies on the western bank of the Hackensack River and is located at 40°55′39″N 74°02′15″W / 40.927579°N 74.037394°W / 40.927579; -74.037394 (40.927579, -74.037394). It is bordered by Paramus, Oradell, New Milford, and Hackensack. A suburb of New York City, River Edge is located approximately 8 miles (13 km) west of Upper Manhattan.
