Rosa and Demostenes Moreira opened their grocery shop in 1960, but it wasn't until 1969 during a slump in the grocery market when Rosa Moreira started baking bread. Rosa's first batch of four loaves of bread and six cakes sold out in under an hour. Within two weeks the tiny shop in El Empalme was renamed 'Rosita's Bakers' and continued to go from strength-to-strength over the next years. I was born watching and learning the recipes of my grandmother Rosa Moreira and I learned how to fight every day for the welfare of my family. I am a public accountant but my passion is the cakes and desserts. Since arriving in the USA, my dream was to have my own cake shop.
