Founded in 1969, Davie County Emergency Services provides a range of medical solutions for individuals and businesses. It offers services to more than 40,000 residents throughout Davie County in North Carolina. The department is comprised of emergency medical services, emergency management and fire marshal offices. Its emergency management office is responsible for disaster planning, hazardous materials information and response to chemical spills. The office additionally provides protection for natural and manmade disasters. Davie County Emergency Services offers the EMT-Advanced Intermediate training program, which includes cardiac medication administration, cardiac rhythm monitoring and advanced airway techniques. The department specializes in over 40 types of medication and nearly 10 electrocardiogram readings. It operates approximately three paramedic level transportation units throughout the county. Davie County Emergency Services has received the Model System award from the North Carolina Office of Emergency Medical Services.
