The Oxford Police Department is a full-service law enforcement agency that prevents crime, protects residents lives and their properties, suppresses criminal activities and apprehends law offenders. The department employs a staff of more than 30 sworn officers and over 10 full- and part-time civilian employees. It maintains a high intensity target team and patrol division. The Oxford Police Department also maintains a K-9 unit that handles cases related to drug intervention, tracking, and searches for persons, buildings and evidences. The department maintains a communication center that offers fire-related, police protection and medical services.
