Raleigh Vocational Center is a private, nonprofit community rehabilitation agency. It serves persons with disabilities or other barriers to employment. The agency focuses on those services and programs that assist persons in finding and maintaining competitive employment or reaching other vocational aspirations. It partners with employers to find successful job matches. Raleigh Vocational Center has operations in Raleigh and Henderson, N.C., and has affiliations with numerous other agencies. It partners with the North Carolina Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, Veteran s Administration, North Carolina Division of Services for the Blind, private rehabilitation agencies and worker s compensation carriers. Raleigh Vocational Center opened in December 1964 in the former Coca Cola Bottling plant located on Glenwood Avenue and moved to its 117 South West Street location in 1965.
