North Carolina League of Municipalities, founded in 1908, is a nonpartisan federation of more than 500 cities, towns and villages in North Carolina. It offers a range of services, and by advocating the municipal viewpoint at the state and federal levels. It provides a forum for the exchange of ideas among municipal officials, promotes efficiency in municipal government, and provides services and information that helps municipal officials meet the needs of citizens. The league has two legislative action committees, finance and administration legislative action committee, and planning and services legislative action committee that study and recommend policies on a wide range of topics. It focuses on various issues, including annexation, incorporation, infrastructure funding, transportation funding, economic development and telecommunications. North Carolina League of Municipalities is headquartered in Raleigh, N.C.
