Located in Charlotte, N.C., Cochrane Middle School is a magnet school that teaches more than 595 students in grades six through eight. It has a team of social workers, literacy coaches, academic facilitators and parent advocates. Cochrane Middle School s core curriculum includes math, science and environmental studies. It also conducts classes in elective subjects that include band, chorus, art, journalism, dance, orchestra, typing, TV production, Spanish, French, and health and physical education. Cochrane Middle School is approved by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and is a part of Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, which is one of the largest school systems in the United States.
