Hope Valley Elementary School teaches students in prekindergarten through fifth grade and is a year-round school. The campus is located in Durham, N.C., and is administered by Durham Public Schools. It offers academic programs to more than 750 students and offers a variety of subjects, such as art, foreign language, health education, visual arts, math, physical education, science and social studies. The school has a parent-teacher organization that provides an opportunity for discussion of mutual concerns of parents and teachers and fosters communication with the school and community. It also has a school advisory council that participates in information and training programs within the school community. The school organizes special programs for academically and intellectually gifted students. Hope Valley Elementary School has a staff of teachers and paraprofessionals, including speech specialists, nurses, counselors, a physical education instructor, and art and music professionals.
