Sherwood Githens Middle School serves students in grades six through eight. It offers a range of general academic courses in various subjects, such as math, science, social studies and language arts. The school also offers a variety of electives, including fine and applied arts and physical education. Its staff includes teachers, specialists, counselors, technology facilitators, nurses, custodians, teaching assistants and social workers.
