The Oakes Good Samaritan Center is a licensed skilled nursing facility that serves the needs of more than 100 residents. It is Medicaid- and Medicare-certified facility and has a hospice care unit that provides palliative and supportive medical care to terminally ill patients and their families. The center provides hospice care in order to meet the special needs arising out of physical, emotional, spiritual and social stresses that are experienced during the final stages of any terminal illness or death. It also offers intravenous, massage, restorative, music, recreational, respiratory, wound vacuum, physical, occupational and speech therapies. The Oakes Good Samaritan Center is located in Oakes, N.D., and is a part of the Evangelical Lutheran Good Samaritan Society, which is one of the largest nonprofit providers of senior housing and health care services in the United States.
