Henderson is a city in Clark County, Nevada, United States, within the Las Vegas metropolitan area of the Mojave Desert. It is the second largest city in Nevada, after Las Vegas, according to an estimated population of 257,729 in the 2010 Census Bureau. It occupies the southeast end of the Las Vegas Valley at an elevation of approximately 1,330 feet (410 m).
The city received its charter from the State Legislature in 1953 establishing a Council/Manager form of government.
