I did not appreciate their policy of leaving you completely in the dark about the cost of services when you call to schedule. They refused to give me any idea of what the cost would be, intentionally trapping me with a decision to make about how much i could spend once the tech was already here. I don't appreciation being treated like this by a company, its bad customer service and I won't use them again because of that. However, i loved the tech they sent out and he did a fabulous, flawless job. I think his name was Seth
The person who provided the service did not seem willing to assist, within 2 minutes into the conversation told it was going to be 330.00 and that he could not guarantee anything, he also said that the only guarantee was that he was going to get his payment at the end of the service. He ran the snake into the pipe, said there was nothing he could do because it was blocked (yes I knew that right, that’s why we called him), he then told me to call the city to handle it. He suggested that I tell the city he ran a bigger snake he he actually did. He ran water to test if the issue was still there, clogged our drain, I had to ask him to clean up the water that was ankle high at that point and he said that he didn’t have a pump so he had to borrow ours, if I hadn’t asked I’m pretty sure he would have left the water there. I called the city as suggested and issue is within our responsibility, so I spent 330.00, had no resolution and a bad service on top of it.
While it took over 12 hours for someone to come out and clear the blockage, once the technician Matt arrived he had it cleared in 20 minutes. He pulled out a giant root about 4 feet out. Chris came with his cam and found three spots that were weak where roots are growing in. He recommended a similar procedure we had done last year called pipe lining. It seals the pipes. He said that patch looks fantastic. He wasn’t pushy about getting the repair done ASAP. Gave me a quote for what it was going to cost and call him when we decided what to do.
Matt was very professional. He explained each step that he took. The clog was fairly significant. He had to get an extra long snake to finally unclog the pipe. He re_checked to make sure the water was running through the pipe. He made sure the area under the sink was dry and cleaned up. Very personable. Roto Rooter is lucky to have him.
I had another great experience with RotoRooter. I had a cast iron floor drain that was clogged (probably scaling) and needed someone. I've worked with RotoRooter before and even though the name is big I always request Zach #181 and know what I'm getting. He explained to me what was going on and had my problem fixed in no time. I will use again.
Steve B from Roto Rooter came out a the time he gave me on the phone/prompt!. He went right to work on my leaky bathroom faucet, GAVE ME A COUPON..YA. Steve even put footies on over his shoe's he didn't track in a bit of dirt. Thank you Roto-Rooter for sending Steve and being prompt. Susan Temple
Tom came to my house on time to fix my 2 faucets and was very kind and polite. He worked efficiently but was helpful at the same time, taking time to answer my questions and provide recommendations. I would recommend to anybody.
Roto-Rooter was great. Zack in Cincinnati was knowledgeable and prompt. He took care with my property and made the most of his visit by educating me about my building and being thorough with the drain issue. Highly recommend.
Started calling plumbers around 11AM Friday for a clogged sink. Everyone said Monday or Tuesday except RotoRooter who showed up about 3 hours later, charged a flat fee and was done 5PM. Matt (employee #2719) was great. Very polite and professional, answered all my questions, did great work, very pleased. The clog was way behind my sink in some old cast iron.
Communications with customer service and dispatch were excellant. When Steve (2037) arrived he was extemely pleasant and professional. He explained the issue well, was very efficient and quickly fixed our problem. As a professional in a similar service business, I can say Steve and Roto Rooter impressed me throughout the process.
I called Rotor Rooter for an estimate to have someone come to our home to unstop a kitchen sink. They told me that they don't give estimates over the phone, but they come to your home and give a free estimate. Upon arrival the tech said they had a flat fee of $329 to unclog the drain. It took the tech 10 minutes to run a 15' auger down the sink and fix the problem. The tech did offer me a $55 discount off the above flat rate fee, but I find it mind boggling that this company knows in advance what their flat rate is, but does not quote it over the phone. If I had heard the initial cost, I would have definitely declined their services. Looking back, I still should have declined the service once the tech was here because even after the $55 was taken off, I paid $274 for 10 minutes of work.
