National Electric Coil is a manufacturer of retrofitters for large motors, generators and related electrical equipment. The company is also a custom manufacturer of replacement coils. NEC offers coils and bars for turbine generators and high-voltage motors, including half-turn bars, inner gas and inner water-cooled bars and flexible end turn coils. HV stator windings for hydro generators, turbine generator rotor coils and hydro generator rotor poles are among the additional products manufactured by the company. Founded in 1917, the independently owned National Armature and Electric Works changed its name to National Electric Coil in 1934. The company is headquartered in Columbus, Ohio. A second facility is located in Brownsville, Texas.
