Founded in 1895, the Butler Township Fire Department works to provide fire suppression and prevention, emergency medical and rescue services. It is comprised of more than 50 full- and part-time personnel. The department houses a fleet of engines and heavy rescue, ladder and one grass trucks. The Butler Township Fire Department operates a fire prevention bureau that works to educate the public regarding the prevention of life-threatening hazards. In addition, it conducts various fire safety programs for community groups, school children and businesses. The department operates a communication center that has multichannel, programmable radios that assist in coordinating responses to various emergency and nonemergency calls for service. It is located in Dayton, Ohio.
