Founded in Fairborn, Ohio in 1981 by Eldon Smith, Pyramid Design has become a leader in the tool design industry. Starting out early in their careers, Eldon and one other designer designed tools and dies for many local shops in the greater Dayton area. Always striving to remain a leader, Pyramid Design purchased their first CAD system in 1987 comprised of the latest equipment and software, Anvil 1000MD . Within six weeks, Pyramid Design, realizing that CAD was the future of the tool design industry, had purchased a second station. By 1989, Pyramid Design had grown to five employees and four CAD stations. The following year, Pyramid Design moved to its current location. With this continued growth, Pyramid Design ventured into 3D modeling work for a local company in 1992. In 1994, Pyramid Design had purchased two seats of Unigraphics Solid Modeling software along with new high-tech equipment. Today, Pyramid Design employs seven full-time designers, with experience ranging from eight to 44 years, all utilizing Unigraphics . Pyramid Design continues to be a leader in 3D tool and die design, servicing customers not only in the local Dayton, Columbus and Cincinnati areas but also nationally.
