The Board of Health Members are appointed by the District Advisory Council. The board is governed by the Seneca County General Health District, which focuses on promoting wellness, preventing diseases and protecting the environment. It serves the citizens of Seneca County in Ohio. The district provides a range of health care services. The Seneca County General Health District operates the Bureau for Children with Medical Handicaps (BCMH), which offers surgery and therapy services, as well as provides prescription drugs, hearing aids, and equipment and supplies for children with special health care needs. It also maintains dental, lead, specialty and teen clinics. The district s family planning clinic offers education, counseling, health assessment and physical examination services for women. The Seneca County General Health District conducts inspections and issues permits for private water supplies, sewage disposal systems, and garbage and refuse trucks.
